Basic video editing
I visited Paris in February 2004. I shot one video of Eiffel tower using my digital camera,Sony Cyber shot PSC-73. I took the video in vertical direction which was quite normal because when you shoot Eiffel tower, it is hard to shoot in horizontal direction
.
When i extracted that video from camera, i needed to rotate my video 90 degrees to see it/share it. I was not much aware of video editing softwares. I searched on internet and found that if you have Windows XP on your desktop, you can use Windows Movie Maker for basic editing of video files.
There are many more video editors(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_editing_software), and you can use as per your requirement.
I found Windows Movie Maker very useful for very basic video editing. This utility is generally intalled with your windows operating system but not visible is start menu.
For opening Windows Movie Maker, just type ‘moviemk.exe’ or ‘moviemk’ in Start-> Run..
Well, i did use only rotation feature of video effects but it has some very basic and very useful things for video editing.
1. Video Effects(I am listing some very basic one, which are needed generally)
a. Setting brightness
b. Fade In – Fade out
c. Rotate
d. Speed up – Slow down
2. Video transition
3. Audio Clip
4. Video Clip
5. Title and credits (using timeline)
6. Import video/pictures/audio and use it for editing.
Happy editing!
