Find Business information on Google – Google Local & Google Maps
A new kind of Yellow page which you can search based on location and current map in your browser window.
I find it quite useful for finding any useful information in your city or city you are going to travel. Google Local and Maps in comination provide very useful information. I used to thought that these services are useful for countries like US, UK and Europe where data is more organized and you can get enough results using these websites but I tried this few days back and found it very useful.
Go to http://local.google.com/, you will get a page of Google Maps which will allow you to search the place and then you can search local information related to various categories like:
1. Hotels, Hotels, Guest Houses & Lodges
2. Banks & Financial Institutions
3. Taxi Stands, Taxi Services
4. Electrical Materials & Components, Electronic & Electrical Goods – Service & Repair
and many more. Try searching any information you want to know about the place.
You can switch between map view and text view.
** Google does not contain all the local data and data is provided by http://www.indiacom.com/ and http://www.yellowpages.co.in/
